Enjoy all that Oaxaca has to offer with this cultural and culinary getaway. \n \nOur visit includes: \n\nA full cooking class with chef Oscar – remember\, chocolate comes from Mexico!\n1 hour Spanish lessons per day in Oaxaca (optional\, but worth it)\n2 excursions – Monte Alban (the first planned city in the Americas) & a full day out of the city.\nPlenty of free time to explore the city streets\, enjoy the flowers\, birds and shops at your leisure – oh and watch the sunset from any number of terraces\nLovely walking areas around the city and exercise opportunities\nFrom Oaxaca we will drive to the costal mountains for an overnight\, then down (way down) to the tropical coast.\nHuatulco is wonderful and safe. One of the youngest resorts in Mexico.\n\nTechnical Details: \n\nFly into Oaxaca (there are direct international flights through Houston & Dallas) On the 14th. Fly home from Huatulco Jan 24 (or stay on if you like)\nYou will need to take care of airport transfers\, we will take care of all other transport\nIn Oaxaca we’re planning to use a very clean 3+ star hotel walkable to everything (group loved it last year). We’re not including breakfast in Oaxaca this year as so many enjoyed walking to the park for a fresh juice!\nUp in the mountains the hotel will be very basic. Half day guiding tour of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik’s proud and turbulent history goes back to the 6th century and there is an abundance of reasons why the city is known as “the pearl of Adriatic”. The city suffered great damage during the Croatian war of Independence (1991-1995) but proudly managed to rise and restore its greatness. Stroll along Stradun\, favourite promenade and meeting place\, the main street going mid Old Town from Pile to Ploče Gate and do not miss out on the walk along the awesome fortified walls of Dubrovnik. It is one of the best preserved fortification complexes in Europe. \nThe 1940-metre long walls encompass five forts and sixteen towers and bastions so give yourself at least an hour to walk its full length. To learn more about its history and tradition you should visit Ethnographic museum\, Cultural and Historical Museum or Maritime Museum. Also well worth the visit is the Franciscan Monastery with the oldest pharmacy in Europe. Do not miss a Cable car ride to Srđ Hill for spectacular view\, photo ops and visit to fort Imperial. Afternoon free. Overnight in hotel. \nDay 3 DUBROVNIK-ELAPHITI ISLAND BOAT TOUR-DUBROVNIK ( B\, D) \n \nToday is the boat trip to Elaphiti Island. The sheer geographical position of the Elaphite islands offers guests the perfect opportunity to island hop. These untouched islands are a wonder of nature and also provide an experience of true island life\, Dalmatian style. Situated to the north-west of Dubrovnik this group of islands is made up of eight islands\, the majority of which are uninhabited\, and with this full day excursion\, you will have the opportunity to visit three of them – Koločep\, Šipan and Lopud. Take a dip in the crystal clear seas\, stroll in the shade of Mediterranean vegetation\, explore quaint hamlets or simply indulge your taste buds with local cuisines\, the choice is yours. Return to hotel. Dinner and overnight in hotel. \nDay 4 DUBROVNIK-MONTENEGRO ( Kotor and Perast )- DUBROVNIK (B\,L) \nIn the morning depart for Montenegro. Arrival in Kotor for the sighseeing. The town of Kotor is surrounded by 4 km long walls with 3 entrances into the town. Within the walls there is the Cathedral of St. Tryphon\, who is also the patron of the town. Apart from the Cathedral\, in Kotor there are also the Rector’s Palace\, the building of Napoleon’s theater\, Arsenal\, the Church of St. Clara with Franciscan monastery\, the Česma Karampana (Karampana well)\, the town tower… Lunch in restaurant in Kotor. Afterwards head to Perast . Although small\, it is abundant in numerous buildings such as churches\, chapels\, palaces … From Perast baot ride to the the islet of Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rocks)\, artificially created by bulwark of rocks\, on which there is the church of the same name with a votive Shrine of the Sailors. Return to Dubrovnk. Overnight. \n \nAfterwards head to Perast . Although small\, it is abundant in numerous buildings such as churches\, chapels\, palaces … From Perast baot ride to the the islet of Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rocks)\, artificially created by bulwark of rocks\, on which there is the church of the same name with a votive Shrine of the Sailors. Međugorje became world-famous as a place of religious pilgrimage due to the apparitions of the Virgin Mary on 24th June 1981. Međugorje turned into Europe’s third most important apparition site with more than one million people visiting every year. \nAfterwards head to Mostar\, typical lunch in restaurant. Sightseeing. Mostar is a city of contrasts\, culture\, colour and cuisine. The city is divided by not only the Neretva River that flows through it but also by religion and culture from one bank to the other. Mostar\, in neighboring Bosnia and Herzegovina\, is a memorable place to visit is where “east meets west” and where the journey to it is invigoratingly full of contrasts. Just a short drive up the Adriatic coast and then inwards following the breathtaking Neretva Valley will offer stunning views of the local countryside. Experience Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most beautiful town\, view the iconic ‘Stari Most’/Old Bridge\, discover Ottoman and Turkish history. Accommodation in hotel\, overnight.  \nDay 6 MOSTAR-POČITELJ-SPLIT ( B) \nMorning free time to explore Mostar by your own. In the afternoon depart for Split with a stop in Počitelj. Počitelj is a small but unique village\, on the river Neretva and is a medieval and ottoman-Mediterranean wonder of nature and architecture. Arrival in Split\, accomodation in hotel. Overnight \nDay 7 SPLIT ( B\, D) \nBreakfast in hotel. In the morning guiding tour of Split. Today’s Split is the handiwork of seventeen centuries of men and women building and remodeling\, adding\, tearing down and touching up\, so that 18th century houses intersect with ancient Roman walls and fourth century chambers house twentieth century apartments. At the core of this sprawling cityscape is the palace the Emperor Diocletian built for his golden years at the turn of the fourth century. Afternoon free time. Overnight and dinner in hotel. \n \nDay 8 SPLIT-PLITVICE LAKE (B\, D) \nAfter breakfast depart for Plitvice Lakes. Meet the guide and sightseeing.The most beautiful and oldest national park in Croatia under UNESCO protection – consisted of 16 lakes connected by magnificent waterfalls. The park is located in Lika mountain region and visited mostly on foot – however the entrance includes a boat ride across the Emerald Green Lake “Kozjak” and a train ride back to the main entrance. The visit of the park grounds takes approx. 3 hours. Accomodation and dinner in in hotel Plitvice area. \n \nDAY 9 PLITVICE LAKES-POREČ-ROVINJ (B\, L) \nBreakfast in hotel head to Rovinj with a stop in Poreč. Sightseeing. During the reign of the Byzantine emperor Justinian\, Porec reached its highest peak. This will become obvious to you once you see the Euphrasius’ basilica\, beyond doubt a breathtaking sight. It was built in the middle of the 6th century in the Byzantine style\, and the mosaics on its front and interior are truly one of the most beautiful works of art in the world! The whole edifice has been included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Entering the basilica\, you will feel the ghosts of past centuries and will be able to touch the eternity! Truffle ( world-known gourmet delicacy)  lunch in restaurant. Arrival in Rovinj\, accomodation and overnight in hotel. \n \nDAY 10 ROVINJ (B) \nIn the morning guided tour of Rovinj a town which is an inspiration to many artists and considered to be the most beautiful coastal town in Istria. Lunch will be served in a centrally located restaurant in Rovinj after which you will have some free time for coffee or cocktails in one of the local bars with attractive locations on the stone shore.
