The Ups and Downs of Central Colombia

So… Wow. Aside from volcanic rock, the rest of the environment is so green as to almost assault the senses. From bird to plantations this country is alive and feels very wild. 40 + years of rural civil war has resulted in rather developed cities, but poor inter-urban infrastructure.

People still talk in lower voices when discussing the military factions, but collectively Colombia appears to be breathing a sigh of relief. Perhaps now monies can be directed away from arms and invested into infrastructure.
