France April 2025

From the city to the historic beaches

From Paris to Normandy

Welcome to the City of Lights. Europe’s largest – and perhaps most famous – city, Paris is beautiful, dense and remarkably walkable.

We’ll spend three nights here and explore as much as possible.

You will fly into CDG – take a taxi into the centre and away we go! 2 1/2 days in this famous city visiting the Champs Elysee, Montmartre, Notre Dame, Saint Germain, Eiffel Tower and so much more.

From Paris we will take one of France’s famous high-speed trains west to Normandy.

This is Viking France and, of course, the sights of the most important western invasion of Europe during World War Two.

Upon arrival we will visit Bayeux – specifically the Tapestry that tells the story of William’s the Conqueror’s 1066 invasion of Britain.

The following day is dedicated entirely to the WW2 beaches, sites and cemeteries. This is an important day.

From Normandy we continue west to the Mont Saint-Michel. This ancient monastery becomes an island twice a day!

Later we will continue to spectacular Saint Malo for three nights. Jacques Cartier left from here to travel up the Saint Lawrence, leading to the establishment of New France (Quebec, Canada & Louisiana). We will spend a day exploring this walkable city and eating seafood. The following day we will head out to explore more of Celtic France.

After three nights is St. Malo we will train back to lovely Paris for a final night and dinner.

This is a very small / custom group tour. Ideally I will drive all through Normandy and Brittany unless our group size requires other transport.

Arrive Paris April 9, fly home April 18!
