By request, people have been asking about a Mexico tour (finally)! Starting in Mexico City we’ll make our way through the important cultural regions of central and southern Mexico – particularly Oaxaca, the centre of Mexican cuisine and sight of the first planned city in the Americas (pre-contact).
We’ll even have two beach / tropical days! The tour includes many meals, activities and an internal flight. You’ll find it easy to book flights in and out of Mexico City.

Itinerary
Day 1: Monday 02/03/20, Mexico City
Arrive in the Sprawling City of Mexico!
You will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel.
Day 2; Tuesday 03/03/20, Mexico City
Breakfast followed by a tour of the city. In the afternoon we will visit the National Museum of Anthropology, and in the evening we will be treated to a food tour of Mexico City.
Day 3: Wednesday 04/03/20, Mexico City
After breakfast we will tour the areas surrounding the city, including Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This afternoon we will explore the archaelogical site of Teotihuacan – this is the famous Sun Temple!
Day 4: Thursday 05/03/20, Mexico City – Cholula – Puebla
Today we will travel to Puebla via the village of Cholula.
Cholula is a village at the foothills of Volcano Popocatépetl – a huge, smoking volcano. We will stop to explore and reach Puebla by evening with time for a look around.
Stay in Puebla overnight.
Day 5: Friday 06/03/20, Puebla – Oaxaca
Travel from Puebla to Oaxaca today passing through the wonderful Sierra Madre Orientale mountain range. We will arrive in Oaxaca in the afternoon and the rest of the day is up to you!
Day 6: Saturday 07/03/20, Oaxaca
In the morning we’ll visit the prestigious Zapotec site of Monte Alban, the first planned city of the Americas (sometimes called the Machu Picchu of Mexico). In the afternoon, explore the delightful town of San Martin Tilcajete and return to Oaxaca for the evening.
Day 7: Sunday 08/03/20, Oaxaca
This morning after breakfast we will head towards the incredible waterfalls of Hierve el Agua. These waterfalls were created by mineral water that pushed through the limestone, depositing the falls onto the mountain’s edge. Remember to bring your swimsuit to enjoy the mineral waters that form natural pools with a great panorama.
On our way back to Oaxaca in the afternoon, we’ll stop in the town of Santa Maria el Tule.
Day 8: Monday 09/03/20, Oaxaca
Oaxaca – this is the much needed free day in this incredible city. We will look into cooking classes and a variety of activities.
Oh, you can also sit on the main square, drink Mezcal and eat dried bugs 😉
Day 9: Tuesday 10/03/20, Oaxaca – San Bartolo Coyotepec – Huatulco
This morning, depart early for Huatulco. This is a scenic drive from the high plateau down to tropical sea level. We will stop for lunch on the way and arrive in the afternoon. Spend your evening at leisure either in your hotel or on one of the 9 beaches that make up Bays National Park.
Day 10: Wednesday 11/03/20, Huatulco and
Day 11: Thursday 12/03/20, Huatulco
Spend two days at leisure in beautiful Huatulco.
Optional activities available here are diving in the colorful reefs, kayaking along rapids and horse riding through the beautiful countryside.
Day 12: Friday 13/03/20, Huatulco – Mexico City
Transfer from your hotel to Huatulco Airport.
Welcome back to Mexico City! Tonight we will go for a farewell dinner in the city.
Day 13: Saturday 14/03/20, Mexico City – Home
Depart from the hotel for Mexico City Airport (transfers not included due to timings)
Fly home!
